For a homeowner facing the frightening threat of possible foreclosure, the offer seems too good to be true.Illinois housing market improves in May; sales up 17.3 percent from April.
Illinois REALTORS statewide reported an upswing in home sales in May from April 2008, according to IAR's May housing report. Total home sales were up 17.3 percent in May 2008 to 11,173 sales compared to April 2008 sales of 9,523. The Illinois median price in May reached $190,000.Cook County Predatory Lending Database takes effect July 1.
Download a consumer brochure and fact sheet on the new law, Public Act 95-691. The purpose of the program is to reduce predatory lending practices by assisting certain Cook County borrowers in understanding the terms and conditions of their loan.
