Resolve To Be Involved
Every year, we set New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, exercise, get financially fit, or some other goal that may be hard to achieve.
This year, set a resolution that you can achieve in one simple step; "Resolve to be Involved" in GGAR's Government Affairs activities. 2012 is a vital election year, and REALTORS® can make a huge impact on the outcome.
Being involved in Government Affairs does not mean endless meetings or hundreds of extra e-mails and phone calls that require significant effort. On the contrary, being involved most of the time means simply responding to a Call to Action from the Illinois Association of REALTORS® on an issue like preserving the Mortgage Interest Deduction, participating in an RPAC fundraising event, or attending a local city council meeting on an issue directly affecting your local real estate market.
The purpose of Government Affairs is to work to protect your rights as a licensed REALTOR® through the effective lobbying of federal, state, and local elected officials. Your voice is a vital part of this effort and many times is the deciding factor between success or failure. By working with your local GAD, you will be aware of government changes occurring in your local real estate market, which will allow you to better serve your clients.
So this year, Resolve to be Involved in your local Government Affairs and be the change the real estate industry needs to bring our economy back to life.
